Today, the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Unit of the Adolescent Health Centre (ADHEC) conducted a comprehensive capacity-building session on data collection, recording, and monitoring for the Global Fund–supported Adolescents and Young People (AYP) Project.
The session was designed to strengthen the skills of the newly recruited Peer Navigators and Community Health Workers (CHWs), enabling them to effectively monitor ongoing project activities, accurately capture data, and use it to inform decision-making. Participants were guided through practical approaches to data entry, data quality assurance, referral tracking, and reporting tools used under the Global Fund AYP framework.
The training emphasized the importance of data in understanding adolescent health outcomes—particularly in identifying trends in HIV testing, treatment uptake, and prevention service utilization among adolescents and young people. building their capacity in data management, the Peer Navigators and CHWs are now better equipped to collect reliable information from the field, ensure timely and accurate reporting, and contribute to evidence-based programming that enhances the health and wellbeing of adolescents.
Additionally, the session highlighted the role of data-driven monitoring in identifying gaps in service delivery, informing targeted interventions, and strengthening accountability within communities. Through these efforts, ADHEC continues to promote a culture of learning, transparency, and continuous improvement in adolescent health programming.
