Peer Navigators in Lubuto
Our Peer Navigators in Lubuto are working closely with the team at Lubuto Urban Health Clinic to extend HIV prevention services to adolescents and young people in the community. This work is part of the Adolescents and Young People (AYP) Programme, supported the Global Fund through UTH HAP.
The Peer Navigators spend their time in nearby zones where young people gather. They offer basic information on HIV prevention, link clients to testing, and guide them toward services such as PrEP, counselling, and follow-up care at the clinic. Their presence helps young people speak openly, ask questions, and seek support without hesitation.
The collaboration with Lubuto Urban Health Clinic has strengthened referral pathways and improved access to timely services. It has also created a practical link between community outreach and facility-based care, which is essential for sustained prevention.
We appreciate the commitment shown our Peer Navigators and the continued support from our partners who make this work possible.
